As a Junior Associate Producer and under the responsibility of the Production Associate Director, you will join and support the Group Production teams in communicating with their Japanese counterparts at Bandai Namco Entertainement Japan.

You will be supporting the production planning of titles developed in Japan, either by assisting other Associate Producers/Producers or independently, and will be in constant contact with internal functional teams and publisher representatives across multiple regions (Europe, America, Japan, and other Asian countries)in order to manage multiple projects.


Your main responsibilities will include:


  • Provide Japanese-English communication support when communicating with our Japanese counterparts. This includes translation assignments (emails, build documents, marketing presentations) as well as interpretation tasks (conference calls, meetings)
  • Build and sustain a good relationship with our Japanese counterparts and act as a liaison point for the Group Production team, helping them gain a better understanding of cultural and regional differences
  • When managing projects, support the creation and maintenance of detailed production schedules in collaboration with the internal teams (localisation, QA, marketing, release management, manufacturing, supply chain)
  • Liaise with all teams involved on the project to facilitate communication regarding project scope and status
  • Coordinate and track activities and assets to ensure that project tasks are completed on time
  • Liaise with Production Services leads to determine resources to see projects through to completion
  • Proactively and continuously identify risks and their impact on projects to ensure budget, quality and schedule scopes are respected; escalate risks
  • Flag and escalate conflicts between schedule, budget and quality
  • Track progress to ensure that the work done is always relevant and timely
  • Co-ordinate the build process and delivery of versions to QA, Localization, PR and rating agencies
  • Support submissions to EMEA ratings and questionnaires in coordination with QA and local offices
  • With the support of the Producer, perform content checks, flagging any ethical/cultural risks in game content
  • With the support of the Producer, evaluate and assess the project quality during development stages and make recommendations to the Japanese Production teams and/or to the development team
  • Assist marketing and sales team’s efforts to demo the game to press, etc.

Profil

  • Native Japanese speaker, or fully bilingual in Japanese
  • Bachelor's to Master’s degree in languages, project management, communication or videogame production
  • Previous experience as a project manager/coordinator, preferably in the videogames or software/entertainment industries, and/or in an international environment
  • Experience in translating/interpreting is a plus (*this is not a translation/interpretation position)
  • Japanese and English fluency in business and professional settings, with excellent spoken, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong project management/coordination practices
  • Previous experience in an international environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word); ideally some previous knowledge of task management tools such as Confluence and Jira
  • Interest/knowledge in videogames; previous experience in videogame production preferred but not required.
  • Awareness and respect of cultural differences when working in an international environment
  • Pragmatism to ensure all tasks are duly completed
  • Adaptive and flexible to accommodate workload changes throughout the year
  • Curious, open-minded and willing to learn
